Our 2015 Mid-Year Report combines a review of the prevailing conditions in the in-house legal recruitment market with the results of a comprehensive compensation survey of lawyers registered with Barclay Simpson. The results of the survey together with our own experience allows us to report that the

number of vacancies, although already at historically high levels, continues to grow and also that in-house lawyers are becoming more content with their remuneration.
- Only 1% of lawyers surveyed reported that they were not working.
- 58% of in-house lawyers reported they are content with their current remuneration up from 49% in 2014.
- Whilst averages are made up of a wide range of individual experiences, the average salary increase for a lawyer changing job is currently 15%, down from 16% in 2014. The average increase for those staying with their existing employer is close to 7%, up from 5% in 2014.
