Threat Modeler – Authentication, Architect, Cyber Security, Permanent, Any  USA


Our leading global tier-1 banking client is requiring a cyber security expert to bring threat modelling skills to its security team. We are seeking a multifaceted cyber security architect with an in depth understanding of software development processes including but not limited to: design, integration, threat modelling, and quality assurance. This role will be a functional member of the Cyber Security team, and will engage in numerous projects and technologies while delivering guidance on how to proceed with appropriate countermeasures.


Main responsibilities;

  • Create data flow diagrams including processes, data stores, and trust boundaries
  • Build threat models that identify threats and options for their countermeasures
  • Identify cyber defence services that can diminish XSS, SQL Injection and other potential cyber threats
  • Outline design patterns for authentication, as well as coarse and fine grained authorization
  • Collaborate with technical analysts to provide warnings and conduct predictive analysis of potential threats
  • Evaluate intelligence feeds and recommend modifications or new feeds as necessary
  • Keep up with ongoing trends for situational awareness in the threat modelling space
  • Communicate threat modelling issues and goals going forward with company leadership and shareholders
  • Guide and mentor less experienced team members



  • At least 3 years of experience in cyber security is preferred
  • Ability to write python scripts and develop their integration with programs such as Jenkins and Apache Maven
  • Advanced understanding of cyber threats and their countermeasures
  • Experience in vulnerability research, threat analysis, and exploit investigation
  • Ability to communicate findings both written and orally to senior level executives
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite


Successful candidates will have the ability to work autonomously and be able to bridge the gap between deep technical knowledge and information security initiatives across the company in order to influence strategy and information security architecture.
