The Division

 

Barclay Simpson has been recruiting in the United States since 2012. From our offices in Midtown Manhattan we operate within the following markets: Internal & IT Audit; Risk Management; Information & Cyber Security; Compliance. The US division was the second highest division company-wide in 2017 in terms of net fee income. 

 

Barclay Simpson USA has covered Information & Cyber Security for a number of years, hiring our first wholly dedicated Information & Cyber Security recruiter in 2017. Due to the high demand within this market and anticipated growth curve, we are seeking an Associate-level consultant to come and work alongside our Senior Consultant specialist and support this growth.

 

Our Information & Cyber Security desk covers both permanent and contract hires. Due to our existing relationships in the United States our core market is Financial Services, Banking and Asset Management but we have desire to grow beyond this. We recruit from AVP level all the way through to senior hires and MD positions. We have agreed terms with a wide range of clients including a number of major U.S. firms and global non domestic banks. 

 

We have ambitious plans for the growth of this function. The person we hire will be instrumental in joining our established proposition and supporting its growth by winning new clients, optimising our candidate pool and enhancing the quality of our offering.

 

The team is close-knit and supportive, with a strong focus on success, so someone who is able to embody Barclay Simpson values and collaborate well with others is essential. 

 

 

The Role

 

Based in Midtown New York, the role will be an Associate-level role. Day to day responsibilities will include:

 

  • Supporting the growth of the Information & Cyber Security desk by winning clients and new business from existing ones

  • Developing a high-quality pool of candidates to send to clients using marketing, social media and networking approaches

  • Writing adverts, content for market reports and other marketing paraphernalia, and supporting the delivery of events within the Information & Cyber Security space

  • Working closely with colleagues in the team to effectively cross-sell and deliver a “joined-up” approach to clients 

  • Working closely with and coaching interns who support our work on a day-to-day basis

     

    We have a number of client relationships and terms in place that can be leveraged for Information & Cyber Security, so the business development need is to both “hunt” for new clients and “farm” existing ones.

     

    As a growing office we are keen for people to develop with us – a successful Consultant can expect both promotional opportunities and, in the medium-term, opportunities to build out new areas, manage more junior staff as we add headcount, and contribute to the infrastructure and development of the office in a variety of other ways.

 

The Candidate

 

The successful candidate will have the following attributes:

 

  • Experience working in a recruitment agency, ideally in a 360 “full-desk” role.

  • Working knowledge of Information/Cyber Security from a recruitment perspective (any sector) is highly desirable, although candidates with experience recruiting in other control and technology functions will be considered.

  • Candidates will be comfortable with business development and have demonstrated some success in this area.

  • Likewise, given the profile of some of our existing accounts, an uncompromising approach to client delivery and account management is essential.

  • Strong attention to detail regarding system usage and sharing data.   

  • Strong, genuine team-player who enjoys a collaborative approach.
