Information Security Consultant - Vulnerability, Assessment, IT Risk, Banking, Contract, New York City

Our leading banking client is requiring an Information Security Consultant to support the oversight and implementation of the bank’s cyber information security policies, programs and processes. We are seeking a multifaceted security consultant who can perform the fundamental roles of an information security leader, which include but are not limited to: consistent contributions to the security, stability and reliability of all of the bank’s data security infrastructure, data security policies, and data security operations. This position sits within a newly established function within the bank, and will collaborate with the IT team in order to coordinate all present and future remediation/validation processes.

 Main responsibilities;

  • Monitor security projects, physical and logical security vulnerability identification and analysis.

  • Manage information security systems/tools/projects by implementing tuning rules and controls and providing solutions to address information security issues.

  • Responsible for business activities that help ensure data security and reduce the information security aspect risks.

  • Support business security control, further review security for the Bank’s applications/systems to ensure they meet regulatory requirements.

  • Identify and escalate security issues to the VP of the information security team.

    Requirements;

  • Bachelor’s degree or above.

  • 3 years’ experience in financial industry services.

  • 3 years’ experience in information security and/or cybersecurity such as network maintenance, it security, risk assessment, security controls and monitor or IT audit.

  • Regulatory environment experience. GLBA, FFIEC etc.

  • Bilingual in Chinese and English is a plus.

Successful candidates will have knowledge of both information security and cyber security best practices, familiarity with financial regulations such as: FFIEC, GLBA, PCI and cross border regulations, experience in various major database platforms, and experience working with various security tools. They will also have the ability to work autonomously and bridge the gap between deep technical knowledge of information security initiatives within the bank in order to influence information security management.
